As a trustee of Advocacy Matters, you’ll be at the heart of an organisation that genuinely changes people’s lives. Trustees set the strategic direction of the charity, ensure we meet our legal and financial responsibilities, and help make sure everything we do stays true to our mission of voice, choice, and independence. The time commitment is manageable – trustees typically attend a small number of board meetings each year, with some contact between meetings, and any out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed. It’s a volunteer role that draws on the skills and experience you already have – whether that’s professional expertise, lived experience of disability or advocacy, or simply a passion for social justice. Trustees come from all walks of life, and the more our board reflects the communities we serve, the more effective we can be. If you believe everyone deserves to be heard, we’d love to hear from you.
